RF|Binder Expands Its Commitment To Its Social Impact Practice and Opens San Francisco Office

By Amy Binder

RF|Binder, a leading communications consultancy, announced today that effective Tuesday, October 31st, Annie Longsworth, the founder and CEO of The Siren Agency, will join RF|Binder as Executive Managing Director, bringing her social impact practice to the newly formed RFB|Siren division. Longsworth will also head up RF|Binder’s newly opened San Francisco office, working to increase the agency’s West Coast presence.

This move expands RF|Binder’s longtime commitment to working with purpose-driven brands and corporations, as well as not-for-profit organizations. It further bolsters one of the agency’s key objectives–helping clients find their unique voice on the issues transforming business and society. RF|Binder and The Siren Agency have both been part of PR News’ Agency CSR A-List, a list of agencies recognized annually for building and maintaining best practices in the CSR arena.

“In the last several years, we have seen a significant shift in the value businesses, consumers and the investment community place on social and environmental impact. RFB|Siren is our response to that growing demand,” said Amy Binder, CEO of RF|Binder. “Annie’s experience in the CSR and social impact space is unparalleled, and she also understands how to extend the culture of an agency across the country, making her an ideal leader for our growing West Coast presence.”

“We are at a unique time in history when it’s more important than ever for brands to stand up for their values,” said Annie Longsworth. “Joining my CSR and Social Impact practice with RF|Binder enables me to expand my resources, helping our clients make a true impact through an integrated, multichannel approach to reaching their target stakeholders.”

RF|Binder has a long history of working with purpose-driven brands and organizations. “Our vision as a company has always been to help organizations solve important societal and business issues. By bringing these two purpose powerhouses together, we will continue our strong commitment to social impact, and drive that vision forward,” Binder added.

The agency has led communications and social impact strategy for myriad clients transcending industries, including CVS Health, Tupperware Brands, Bank of America, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capital One, Dunkin’ Brands, H.P. Hood, Pax World Investments, and SASB.

Annie Longsworth is a brand and communications leader committed to positive change through business. She launched The Siren Agency in January 2015 after three years as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi S. Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi S, Annie spent nine years as President of Cohn & Wolfe, San Francisco, where she launched and led the global sustainability practice. Through a combination of ongoing insight collection, strategic discovery, and social storytelling, The Siren Agency has been devoted to helping tomorrow’s brands solve their hardest problems and build relationships with their most important customers.

Longsworth’s past and current clients include Caesars Entertainment, Ramblers Way, Jackson Family Wines, The Coca-Cola Company, Johnson & Johnson, Tom’s of Maine, and American Express. She was one of the original partners on WPP’s Global Green Brands study, an annual survey that assessed attitudes and buying behaviors of more than 9,000 consumers. Longsworth led the research for six years and served as a key spokesperson to share the insights.

She is a lifetime member of the advisory board of Sustainable Brands and has spoken on green consumer behavior and business responsibility at numerous conferences and events. Longsworth was named CSR Professional of the Year in 2016 by PR News, has been recognized by TriplePundit as one of the most influential women in CSR, and by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women in Business.
